Falkirk & Forth Valley
Alexander Taylor is an independent estate agency built around a simple belief: selling a home should be about far more than simply getting it sold.
Across Falkirk, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Bonnybridge, Denny, Dunipace and surrounding communities, the agency combines decades of property experience with detailed preparation, strong negotiation and a highly personal approach to every move.
The focus is on understanding what the client actually wants to achieve, protecting the value of their property and keeping them informed throughout the process. For Alexander Taylor, the measure of a successful move is not simply whether a sale completes, but whether the client feels they were properly represented along the way.
That philosophy has shaped the business since 2007 and continues today through founder Alyson Lowe, partner Stephen Matthews and a commitment to relationships that last beyond a single transaction.
“A home is never just a transaction. It can shape someone’s next chapter. Our job is to protect its value, fight for the best possible outcome and make the journey one they remember for the right reasons.”
ALYSON LOWE - FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Alexander Taylor was established in May 2007 after years of experience within the new-build property industry exposed Alyson Lowe to a problem she believed could be solved better.
Having spent around two decades working in new homes, Alyson regularly saw clients become frustrated by the experience they received when their properties were passed to traditional estate agents as part of assisted-sale schemes.
Eventually, the thought became: there has to be a better way to do this.
Alexander Taylor was built from the ground up, from its identity and premises to the processes used to sell property. Alyson took much of the structure and discipline she had learned within new homes and adapted it for residential estate agency: prepare properly, communicate clearly, follow the process and remain accountable for the result.
Nearly two decades later, technology and the property market have changed enormously, but the principle behind the agency has remained remarkably consistent.
Do what you say you are going to do, support people properly and never forget the significance of the asset somebody has trusted you to sell.
Alexander Taylor is led by founder and director Alyson Lowe, alongside partner Stephen Matthews.
Alyson brings decades of experience across new-build and residential property. Her approach is shaped by preparation, accurate positioning and strong negotiation, taking the time to get a property right before launch rather than simply getting it onto the market.
Stephen is focused on the next stage of Alexander Taylor, building stronger community links and relationships based on trust. His belief is that longevity in estate agency comes from looking after people properly, not chasing a quick transaction and moving on.
That philosophy becomes most visible when a move gets difficult. During one recent, complicated sale, the team had already provided staging furniture and, when last-minute delays left the seller struggling to prepare for handover, offered to help with painting and cleaning the driveway.
For Alexander Taylor, that is simply part of taking responsibility for the client’s move.

Where We Work
These areas can sit only minutes apart while differing considerably in property values, housing styles and buyer demand. Alyson discusses, for example, how the price of a comparable family home can change significantly between Larbert, Denny and Bonnybridge despite the relatively short distance between them.
Larbert & Falkirk
Denny & Bonnybridge
In this episode of the Leading Estate Agents of the World Podcast, Alyson Lowe reflects on almost four decades in property and the experiences that eventually led to the creation of Alexander Taylor.
Alyson discusses the Falkirk and Forth Valley market, including the differences between neighbouring areas such as Larbert, Bonnybridge and Denny and why detailed local knowledge can make a substantial difference when valuing or buying a home.
The conversation also explores her approach to selling. Rather than rushing a property onto the market, Alyson believes in preparing it properly, being willing to make difficult recommendations and getting the strategy right before that crucial first impression.
Alyson also explains some of the important differences buyers moving from elsewhere in the UK need to understand about the Scottish property system, including Home Reports, valuations and the information available before making an offer.
The episode provides an introduction to Alyson, the thinking behind Alexander Taylor and an approach to estate agency built around preparation, communication, negotiation and maximising the client’s outcome.
Who we are
Alexander Taylor exists to help people understand what can genuinely be achieved from their property while making the experience of moving feel supported, informed and properly managed. The agency wants clients to finish their move feeling that the people representing them were approachable, professional and there when they were needed.
Property involves different people, personalities and circumstances. Clients should feel comfortable asking questions, explaining what matters to them and seeking advice without feeling judged or rushed.
Trust is built through consistency. From the first conversation through valuation, preparation, launch, viewings, negotiation and completion, Alexander Taylor believes clients should understand the process and be able to rely on the team to deliver what has been promised.
A completed transaction is only part of the result. Alexander Taylor wants sellers and buyers to look back and feel that they were supported, informed and represented properly throughout one of the biggest financial decisions they will make.
Longevity comes from relationships built on trust and strong morals rather than pursuing the quickest possible transaction. That means remaining part of the community, building a reputation through actions and creating relationships that continue long after the keys have changed hands.
Numbers and strengths that reflect Alexander Taylor’s experience, specialist knowledge and results-driven service.

who we work with
A significant part of Alexander Taylor’s market involves people moving from one family home to another, where maximising the current property’s value can materially affect what becomes possible next.
The agency has particular strength within the middle and upper parts of the market, where presentation, positioning and experienced negotiation can become particularly important.
For somebody buying for the first time, the Scottish property system can feel unfamiliar. Alexander Taylor helps buyers understand Home Reports, viewing, offers and what happens as their purchase progresses.
Leaving a long-term family home can involve financial and emotional decisions. Alexander Taylor helps clients understand the value of what they own and plan the next stage around what they actually want from their move.
The agency works with investors and landlords considering disposals, helping them understand the likely buyer audience, value and strategy required when bringing an investment property to market.
Alyson’s extensive background within new homes gives Alexander Taylor particular understanding of developers, new-build property and the process of helping buyers understand and visualise a home.
